Family Trip to the LA Zoo

The day after Thanksgiving we all went to the LA Zoo, it was nice since we had Tram tickets and were able to ride to different stops, get off, look around and then ride to other areas.

Ben's Eagle Project Day 3

Monday was day 3 or the final part of Ben's service project, we brought the panels to the Wildlife Sanctuary and assembled them. The plan was to assemble them inside the cage, but the Leopards (I was wrong before their Leopards not Jaguars) were to anxious since we were in their place so we built them outside of the cage and then the adults carried them into the cages. The cats were in their bigger caged play yard that's connected to their smaller our minds. Now he just has to do paperwork and pass his board of review. He's already talking about taking Drivers Ed which is something that we dangled over him to inspire him to finish his Eagle.

Fires

This was a photo of a fire in lower Simi Valley that Ben and I saw while out petitioning for supply donations at Lowes. We were safe and so was our apartment.
I went with the boys multiple times to help put out bush fires from wind blown embers to keep it from getting near our Stake Center and then later to clean up.

Ben's Eagle Scout Service Project Day 1

For Ben's Eagle Scout Project he is building Den Boxes for Jaguars which will go in their cages. On the first day Ben directed other boys (with the help of a guy from our ward who is in construction) on building the panels (sides and bottom). Day 2 we painted and Day 3 on Monday we assemble the panels at the Wildlife Sanctuary.

Ben's Eagle Scout Service Project Day 2

For the second day or part of the Service Project Ben lead the boys in painting the newly built panels (sides and bottom) of the Den Boxes (Like Dog Houses) for the Jaguars.
