Christmas Tree Bonfire

Last Christmas the young men collected Christmas Trees and then last night they had a huge bonfire. It was a fun time, we had to end early though since there were some drunk RV people who were calling the cops, since they worried that embers were going to blow into their RVs and set them ablaze. The cops said we were doing everything right but didn't want another call since there had been a big fight earlyer they had to break up diwn the beach, so we agreed to leave early. One drunk individual was trying provoke us, but we just didn't respond. Otherwise Ben and I had a good night.

New Lego Sets!

Ben had been saving for a long time for a Lego set (Star Wars Rebels Imperial Assault Carrier) and was finally able to go on Monday to buy it, while there Nathan also bought a smaller set (Lego Justice League Lantern vs. Sintestro) that he had been wanting for awhile and they both got a free Lego Mini Figure of Marvel's Winter Solder.

Final Band Concert

Wednesday night was Ben's final band concert.

Sing California Sing

Thursday evening Nathan was in a musical with all the 4th graders called Sing California Sing.

Eagle Project

Ben and Nathan helped a fellow Scout with his Eagle project by polishing the high schools mascot statue.

Marching Band at California Adventure

Bens band got to march at California Adventure Friday and play in the park before and after.

Nathans Webelo Award

Nathan received his Webelos award Thursday night during Pack meeting.

My People Sketchers Group Art Gallery Show

I'm in a group art gallery show at one of Thousand Oaks city buildings with an organization called People Sketchers where we get together and draw and yesterday we had a reception for our show. The woman with black hair is Shela, who I think of as an Art Mom since she helped me get ready for the show and she runs People Sketchers and the one on the microphone is Helene who co-runs it with her.

 

 

I had five Illustrations in the show, all Animal Humans in pastel.

 

 My family dropped in to support me for awhile.

Fillmore Parade

Ben's band went to play in a parade in Fillmore.

Cousins in the Pool

Yesterday the four cousins hung out at the motel pool before the Saturday performance.

Annie

Nathan was in his schools production of Annie this weekend. On Friday he was the radio announcer and on Saturday he was Drake the Butler.

Father Son Campout 2015

This,weekend the boys and I went to Lake Castaic for our church's yearly Father Son Campout. The boys actually put the tent up almost totally on their own this year. That evening there was a spiritual message and the boys ran around. The next day the Bishopric made pancakes and sausage and the Ben went with a friend whale watching and Nathan and I went tubing. Funny thing a boating sheriff pulled us over since we didn't know that in California we needed to hold up a flag anytime the boat was stopped and people were in the water. Also that there can be no more then 2 on a tube, but they let us go with a warning.

Charlotte's Conejo Valley Leadership council luncheon

Charlotte's Ben part of an organization that allows city leaders once,a month to see different city organizations to see what each did. Friday I went with her to a closing luncheon where they got certificates.

Scouts, Free Comicbook Day and Gallery Show

They had an activity during Pack Meeting where they had to push a potato across a stage.

Saturday was Free Comicbook Day so I took the boys with one of Ben's friend Paul.

I'm  part of a drawing group called People Sketchers and we have a show though the end of June. I'm selling 5 Pastel pieces.
