Christmas Day 2012

First we opened stockings

Every year it seems like we get a another creature coming into our house on Christmas Eve, first it was Santa and we left cookies, then the next year he brought his freaking reindeers into the house and ate our carrots, then last year we had real I've mice come in to eat our cheese (true story about the mice last year, took a lot of traps for them)

Then we opened presents
I don't think that Nathan's excited enough about getting the Lego Avengers Quinjet.

Ben got the Lego Lord of the Rings Mines of Moria

They both got Skylanders Giants from Santa
And some interactive figures for the game

Again Nathan's not excited at all about his Lego set. We took a break for awhile to eat and build Legos.

 I helped Nathan
They gave each other Wii Games

Santa brought me two packs of Ewoks in my stocking

Charlotte made these neat puzzles with church pictures and popcicle sticks
 Game from the Bigelow family
 Plus a book
 Lego Ninjago book

 Puzzle magnet from Ben
Ben made this awesome clock in scouts for us.
This was a freebee that came with my Scibblenauts game that I recieved, I recieved some Nintendo 3DS and Wii games.
 Nathans finished Quinjet.

Ben's Bear Award at Pack Meeting

Ben received his Cub Scout Bear Award at Pack meeting last Thurday.

Unfortunatly Charlotte had a work meeting/program so Ben pinned me which I later gave to Charlotte.
I new Den Master gave the boys candy canes infused with Bears blood. Then He threw the badge into this tent and they had to fight a bear to get it. (It was actually the Den Assistant in there shaking the tent)

At first I thought that this was Nathan being silly like he usually does, but he was sitting. It took me awhile to realize that it was another Scout doing the signal.

Ben's Class Party

I volunteered in Ben's Christmas Party and was asked to oversee the Dreidel game, I guess that theres always arguments with playing that and so she always assigns Dads to run that one. The kids also made paper wreaths and frosted cookies and then watched Frosty the Snowman.

Ward Christmas Party Pictures with Santa

Santa came to visit our Ward Christmas party and we had pictures taken.

Lego Lord of the Rings Helms Deep set

I've been reading the Lord of the Rings series to Ben and Nathan so they are really into everything about them. Ben saved his birthday money and allowance to buy the Lego Lord of the Rings Helms Deep set. He allowed me and Nathan to help him build it a little by organizing pieces and setting them up so that he could build it.

By the way Charlotte and I saw The Hobbit Friday night and both of us loved it. I felt uncomfortable though during some of the intense action scenes of beheading, stabbing and other violent behavior since I know of some young kids in Ben and Nathans class that their parents were actually bringing them to see the movie. Kind of saddens me that those parents make such bad choices.
Anyways the movie was excellent, great acting and effects, I usually hate 3D, but this was so well done that I didn't mind it at all. There were a few minor things that bugged me like Radagast could have been played a little more seriously and other very minor things, but all in all its lives up to the previous movies. I'm so happy to have not only been able to visit Middle Earth again, but to be fully immersed via all of the extra stuff that Jackson added via the appendixes.

Nerf Gun War

We have two Nerf Guns that we keep in the car trunk and pull out when we go to the park. We had a Nerf Gun War this week.

Bens 10th Birthday morning

Bens birthday was on Wednesday December 5th and he turned 10! The first think that he demanded (quite loudly) when he woke up was breakfast in bed and then him presents, little punk.

Ben's 10th Birthday Party

Ben wanted a Lego Birthday Party again this year so we had his friends Georgie, Joshua, Nicolas and Sean over for games, pizza and cake and ice cream.

I was supprised how long the Lego Board games kept them entertained and from turning on the Nintendo Wii. We also had a guess the amount of Legos jar and a game where we passed a platform around the circle and each person added two legos.

Spokane Airport

We were sad to leave Spokane

Tripleplay Fun Center

On Friday we met my brother Dave at Tripleplay fun center in Hayden. We had fun playing mini golf, rock climbing, playing arcade games and eatting pizza. A bunch of us tryed getting a plastic dinosaur in a grabber claw game without luck and Nathan came in and played once and got two!
