Sledding at the Jans Marketplace

The day after Thanksgiving after I woke up at 2:30am and fought the Black Friday crowds we went as a family to a shopping center a block away from our house and they had brought in snow from the mountains for sledding. The boys had a blast! Ben being the stubborn like usual wouldn't wear a jacket.

Ben went to has first Scout meeting December 2nd since he turned 8 on the 5th. We took picture beforehand.

10th Anniversary Hawaiian Vacation

Last month Charlotte and I celebrated our 10th Anniversary in Hawaii. One of Charlotte's friends in our Ward (congregation) watched the boys so it was nice to just enjoy the time alone together. We arrived in Oahu Thursday Evening and ran into some other members of our Ward, the Fudges who we didn't know that they would be visiting Hawaii at the same time. We then got our car and checked into our Hotel near the beach.

Saturday we visited Pearl Harbor which was something else, we first watched a video presentation that laid out step by step what lead to it and how it happened. There were so many parallels to 9-11 and the Iraq war.

After that we toke a boat out to the Memorial.

We walked in the Memorial and there was such a feeling of peace and solemnity. Everyone was asked to be quiet out of respect for the place and for those who were there to show their respects. I thought of my Father who had serves in the Navy on a boat in the Korean war.

Dole Pineapple Plantation

At the Dole Pineapple Plantation we bought souvenirs and gifts. They also had free pineapple to try and we had lunch in their restaurant along with Pineapple frozen Yogurt which was really good. There was a giant maze, but neither of us wanted to do it without the boys.
